LO4- Legal and ethical

The ASA set rules for advertising on the market for example they make sure the promotion technique does not include false advertisement and also rude or offensive language. They make sure the poster I promote for the festival does not include any sexist or racist references. The logo and the name of the festival should not spread bad vibes or the ASA may stop the festivals campaign. In my festival name it may suggest it may be very political but with the correct campaign the name of my festival means freedom and individuality.


These are all the codes I will need to make sure I consider when production starts of the festival.
The reason for this is so that I do not need to sort out any complaints from customers.
This suits the target audience as the teenage audience will not be effected by these right as I will follow all of them.

LO4 - Gant Chart, Budget and Production Plan

Budget
For this festival I have the budget of £3250 to cover all the cost of the location and the merchandise. The cost of the bands will be £4,500 as they are very well known. These cost will all go to bands cost of performing and providing food for the performers.
£800 will be for the production of the posters and the website as it will cost £200 to set up the website. The posters will cost £600 as the creation will be done by me and the print will be a mass scale to make it cheaper as I will order in bulk. Paying for the location will be £1000 and then staff employment will be free because I will promote it for volunteers. The rest of the £1450 will go to the merchandise as it will cost the most so then I can get more merchandise to able to make profit.
500 t shirts. 90p which will be £450 they will be sold at £14.99 a t shirt. This will mean £7045 will be profit. The mugs will be 30p to make and I will make 150 of them. I will sell them at £2.99 which means the profit will be £403.50. The wrist bands will cost 10p to make and I will have a total of 5000 people so 5050 wrist bands will be made so the 50 volunteers can have them. Per person it will cost £89. The cost to make the wrist bands will be £505 but altogether the wrist bands will make a profit of £455,000. The baseball caps will cost 60p too make and I will make 700 of them which will cost £420. But I will sell them at 7.99 each which will come to £5173 profit.
I will be spending £1420 on the merchandise. This means the profit is £445,530 +£7045+£5173
Taking all the cost of it will make £457,748

Pitch Feedback
The feedback from Nick Bax helped me extremely a she said that I could see if I would open up for some of the colours also he said that I could change the design of the logo as my design is very simple. He said he loved the genre idea and the locations I have included he said that he liked the way I thought of the name and see if I could change the t-shirt designs a little by adding a wider variety of colours.

Another point he told me was that he liked the fact that my target audience was very wide  as I was aiming for the correct target audience.

LO3- Recap

The idea I came up is a new festival called anarchy fest this will consist of mainly indie music. The target audience for this festival and campaign is 16+ and mainly teenagers however 12 and above can still go. The brief has been met to meet the target audience and the idea of the festival.
In my posters and flyers I will include who will be performing at the festival and includes the festiva logo. The sketches and mock ups are done all to me an idea of what I wanted my ideas for example the position of the logo and the colours of the t shirts. I have chosen these fonts due to the genre of the music as indie is very simple and the logos of the bands are very simple. The colours I used are black and white the reason for this is because indie bands have there logos black and white.
 The Anarchy logo is used in many places so I tried to avoid using it. I tried to represent the festival in a prospect so then the younger audience may be appealed. My final designs will be the merchandise I will sell.

LO2- My production

Based on my research for LO1 I was thinking of choosing t-shirt, Poster and wrist band as the products will go well with my chosen event. The reason for this is that these products are very popular in festivals and I was thinking of the revenue this package could make by designing the new products for the event. However based on my research I could also choose to d a flyer or even a hat for the festival including the logo and a bit of graphic design.

LO2- Audience profile


Audience Profile
This is Justin he loves indie music and obsessed with Arctic Monkeys but his favourite live band is Catfish and the Bottlemen and he has seen them lots of times as they are a local band for him. When it is a rainy day he is either studying for university or playing games. The best thing is that he loves his nights out in the city for student night and when he is not in university he is traveling the world with mates. His age is 18 and he doesn't have much money however he get help by his student loan. Justin also likes a bit of Rnb once in a while if he's in the mood. He loves to wear Nike and branded name clothing as he likes to wear good quality clothing. The audience I am looking to promote this too are B and C1. This is because the cost of the ticket will be £89.

Purpose
The purpose of these sketches is to spread the awareness of the festival and to promote the sale of the tickets also get a brief idea on what the t shirts will look like with the logo on them. The target audience will be teenagers which will want a piece of merchandise for remembering the festival. For my sketches I have decided to have black and white as the genre goes with this colour theme.
I have gone for a really simple design as indie includes many block shapes and simple designs.

This was my original idea and I decided to have a simple band with writing on it so then the staff know if you are older enough to go into this area.

I felt like it was a bit boring but I didn't know what to do so I decided to add this pattern in but it didn't work that well.

I decided to change the style completely and have the bands with colour and underline the adult and child but then realised that it looked tacky with the adult and child text so I felt like changing the colour of one band and removing the adult and child.
This is the final design of the wrist bands and I decided to colour code the bands so white is adult and red is child but with both logos on the wrist and the logo on the knot.


LO2- House style ideas (colours, Graphics) and rationale

The house style for my festival will be consistent all the way through. I have decided to stick with the genre of indie for my festival this would mean that black and white will be used a lot with in the creation of the logo and the festival. I will also include some colour on the leaflets ad posters to try grab the publics attention. The colours I will use are red and orange. The reason for this is because they are bright colours and stand out on a poster.

Over the 6 weeks holiday I went to many festivals and took many photos. I would to include some photos of the festivals somewhere in this project. Most of the photos I will take will have a level angle or a high angle but the shots will be long shots. I also used a wide angle to get the whole festival in.

This is an example of what the photos are going to look like on the posters and flyer. However this is not my picture. I have my own ready for the making of the poster.

LO2- Font style ideas for chosen logo/ name and rationale

Arial Nova Condensed is one of the fonts I have experimented with and I have decided that it does match my music genre. I decided to stick with the font and try all my sketch ideas. In my opinion I would say that it turned out very well as it looks a lot cleaner.

I have decided to use Viner Hand ITC Regular as the font for logo 3 as I thought it went well with the style of name and Anarchy Logo. I have decide to make the logo black and white as most indie n
bands just have a clean black and white logo. I have decided to use logo 1 for the posters or leaflets and logo 2 will be used for merchandise I have decided to use draft 1 of logo 2.

LO2- Mind map of potential name

Anarchy fest- a state of disorder due to absence or non-recognition of authority or other controlling systems, absence of government and absolute freedom of the individual, regarded as a political ideal.

Snare Fest- part of a drum that creates a sound when hit. The snare is also a trap that is used to keep animals.

Wham Fest- The sound that a door makes when it is slammed close also it is a expression of when someone gets hurt.

Pick Fest- Usually used to play a guitar and to strum the strings also mainly means you can grab something and choose it yourself.

Paint Fest- Wild and crazy the paint fest is just to represent the colours used in paint also the festival will be messy and fun.

Throne Fest- The word throne suggest some one is in charge. The meaning "hes on his throne" means that the person playing or organizations the best of them all.

Reverb Fest- may mean lets take it back to the old times and bring back the days when we can let our hair down and do what we want also mean amplifier the music around us.

Fret Fest-  flowing an movement. The small waves from music also it is a part of an instrument from where sound comes from.

Tramlines Festival


Purpose
The purpose of the tramlines poster is to informs the community who is on the line up for the days to come however it indicates what days the festival will be played on. The poster will get people to buy the tickets also the t-shirts will help promote the festival. The poster educates people with new bands that are establishing in the local area.
Format
In the tramlines it features a t-shirt, poster, flyer these are some of the things I am looking to make for the festival I will do for this course. Some of the products promote the festival in different ways as it branches out to more of variety of people. The t-shirt will be seen by many as people do buy the t-shirts. The posters will attract more people to the festival as people will look at the poster when walking past. The flyers may be handed out so for example lots and lots of people will see the flyers. The festival is promoted on social media as well. The social media aspect will attract many different types of people and a wider range around the country.
Content
I really do like the photograph used on the poster and I love the way it was edited. The man in the background on the flyer is faded very well as you can only just see him. The typography used in these promotional technique are very similar to each other. The serif font stands out a lot on the poster and is very eye catching. I like the way both posters and flyers writing is spaced out it doesn't look like its rammed all in one place. The colour used in these products all go with the house style as white and red is seen in a lot of these products and black writing contrast well in front of the white background. The poster is very clear to see and not many people would have trouble reading the poster as the colours are simple but show clearly. The logo is really simple and very easily recognised. The logo is red but goes well behind any back ground and contrast with any writing behind it. The logo is many different arrows put together with many different bends and curves in it connecting all the arrows together to make a T. The bleed in poster and the flyer give another space for the images to stand out even tho it mostly writing even then it make the writing stand out.
The kerning between the letters are spaced out well and you can see what each word is saying. The space between the lines which is called leading  has been done on both very well as the writing is clearly separated and you can see what the sentence is saying. The empty space on both flyer and poster isn't too much or too less it is just right as you can clearly see what the poster and flyer is trying to tell you and points out the key information on the poster and flyer. On the poster there is only one photo and over it say the dates this just implies that the singers will perform on these days it doesn't connote anything as there isn't much anchorage on the poster or flyer.
Style  
The style in which all of this package is certain colours and same fonts through out the package. They do use a lot of red and white this denotes they are happy colours and it matches the logo. This connotes that people may like the poster as they see the colour as bright and colourful colours. The target audience for this festival would be late teens to early twenties. This may be because they will bring in a lot of business. This connotes that the festival may be for people who like pop/rock as black is very heavy colour however the white may be like pop. The genre of the event is pop and rock and indie.
Layout
In the poster and the flyer for tramlines I would like to say that the features for the poster are all very well placed in certain areas. The image that is on the poster is on the top left stands out as it is covered by empty space which brings the image out a bit more. The text on the flyer and poster is very well positioned as I can see all the writing clearly. The headings on the poster and flyer do stand out a lot as they are serif and bold. The logo is on every product in this package. The features in the campaign will be on every items to make sure it continues with house style. The use of colour is well planned out as the colours contrast well with the fonts and text colour this is good as the audience can see what's on the poster or flyer. The background on each bit of the package has been thought out and you can clearly see what writing is on the page and what genre is the festival. The genre of this package is indie, rock and pop.
Target Audience
The campaign will mainly focus on 16 to 25 year olds a the festivals include many young artist that teenagers will like. The target audience for the music is 17 to 20 as the music is very modern this is because many young teenagers love this type of music for example like indie. So many people can go to this festival as it doesn't cost as much money as one of the big ones and the local bands are still very good. As the price is low I would like to say that working class people can get ticket and upper working class also rich. The gender that would go to this festival would mostly be girls as the festival does have many bands that girls love so they will attract them for example Catfish and the Bottlemen. This creates an ideal partner as the girls wouldn't mind being with one of the band member also the males that visit the festival wouldn't mind being in the same situation as the band members. The spending power will be high as there is a lot of alcohol and merchandise involved with the festival also people will be traveling from different areas of the country to get to the festival.
Regulatory bodies
The festival package has be very careful that they do not break any rules in the making of the festival as they could lose a lot of money or even the festival could be cancelled is some serious cases. The ASA will manage is if the festival is suitable for the people who come to the festival or even if they just are interested. The ASA will look if  there is harmful, offensive or misleading information in the package that is included in this festival. As these campaigns are trying to attract people to come to the festival it will not include any a bit of abusive behaver or the festival will be closed because they do need a mass audience to run the festival. In this package no themes are glorified. All the logos and band names have given the festival permission to use there name as the festival had to cover the copyright act to not get in trouble.
Leeds Festival







Purpose
The purpose of the poster for the Leeds festival is to inform the public of the event that will be taken place on a certain week and day. The types of features included into the package are t shirts, posters, flyers and wrist bands also stickers. The purpose of this package is to inform the general pubic and local community's or even on a wider scale like the world. One advantage off having a package is to make revenue from a lot of the people by selling these items. Another advantage of having this package is to introduce the genre of the festival so people know what they are going to pay for.
Format
The  types of products that are being sold in this package are t shirts, wrist bands and the ones what will be given for free are poster and flyer. The advantages of having packages on different format you will be able to promote the festival at wide range of people. The product could be sold better as there are more ways to buy them. This results to more profit and more money into the festival.
Content 
The photograph used in the campaign are all represents the type od wristbands you can get in when going to one of these festivals. The wrist bands represent the genre of music but also represents the amount of fun you will have and see new things. The typography in this package is all different as all the fonts are a different. The typography talks about each bands and lets people know about who is playing at certain times and who is playing on which day. The typography on the t shirts all just say Leeds to promote the festival and the typography on the wrist bands may represent a band that you want to see or a day that you went. These bands can represent the genre od the music. The colours used in the package are all the same as it follows the house style very well as the colours are yellow and red. The t shirts do not match the hose style however they do represent the genre of the music as it has many patterns and colours. The colours also are the main reason that people look at the poster as it is very eye catching and draws your attention. The logo of the festival is red with yellow background just saying Leeds with arrows. The logo is really bright and grabs your attention. The main logo is shown on every feature instead of two tops however this will get people to recognise the logo so the festival will get bigger. There isn't many pictures in this package so there is no bleed on the poster or flyers as there isn't any pictures that create bleed. The kerning in the poster and flyer has been done well as the people can clearly see the letters on the page so then all people can read it. The empty space on the flyer and poster is done very well as it brings out the key information. There isn't any pictures of bands on the posters so there isn't any anchorage on the posters.
Style
The design of this package is very good as it is simple but does its job well as it represents the festival very well. The package denotes bright colours and funky patterns. This connotes a fun festival and a wild time that you will have when at the festival. The interesting thing is that the logo hasn't change since the start also it matches the house style. The genre of this festival matches the target audience as the music played in this festival.

Purpose
This package that the reading festival offer includes a poster, flyer, wrist band, key chain and a wrist band. The purpose of this package is to promote the festival to the public not just locally but world wide. The package will offer people to wear or have the festival items to promote it. The other purpose of the package is to be able to sell the products to make revenue for the festival. The other way they can use the package to an advantage is add it onto the ticket prices.
Format
This package includes products like T shirts, wrist bands, key chains, hoodies and poster and flyer, I will be analysing these product and see what benefits they bring to the festival. One advantage of having many products on different formats is that it will attract a wider target audience as the poster will be on the streets to show to local audience. The other advantage of having products on different formats is that you can make more revenue with selling products in batch order. The other way it is advantage for the company is that the festival will find out what type of people will go to the festival.
Content
There isn't any photos used in the flyers or posters this may be because there is a lot of typography this may be because the writing is more important and the reason they will sell tickets is because of the bands playing. The colours on the poster and flyer are well used as it represents the genre what the festival is trying to appeal for. The logos used for this festival is like the Leeds one however its as a different shape this is because they can not use the same logo for both evens they use the same colours in both as they are for the same genre. There isn't any bleed in the poster or flyer as it is all band logos and typography. The kerning on poster is very well done as you can clearly see the different bands which will be performing on the day and makes it clear who the main performers will be for the festival. The leading makes the reader see the letter for each word clearly so there is no struggle for people with disabled abilities to read the poster or flyer. The empty space on this poster is like the Leeds festival as they are the same company but the empty space helps point out key information. There is no example of anchorage on any of these poster or flyer as the bands names are more important do they can attract the target market.
Style
The way they have made the t shirts for this festival has been done very well. I like the way that the jumper follows on with the main design of the t shirts as they have the same colour and same patterns. This connotes that the festival is fun and a augh this would indicate that loads of people will go who just want to have fun.

T in the park

Purpose
T in the park offers a great package when buying a ticket for the festival. The package includes a poster, flyer, wrist band and t shirt. The flyer is given to the public for free and the poster to raise awareness for the festival. The package will help get attention from a mass audience for example the festival doesn't just offer its service to local people it offers the festival for people all the way round the world but based in the UK. The package will help create revenue for the festival as people would like to have souvenir from the festival just to say that they were at that place when it was amazing.
Format
The package includes many interesting items like t shirts. jumpers and wrist bands.  The package also includes vest top and hats. The advantage of having the products on different formats is that it will attract more attention from the audience as people will like to take home different souvenir. The positive of having the festival promoting on different formats is that more of the target audience will see that the festival is running in the area and to attract more people.
Content
The photographs used in the flyer has clearly been taken by a professional photographer however they have edited the photo so it goes with the house style. So the colour of the building goes with the main colour of the flyer. The poster has a couple of photos on it however it has been edited so the photos are above the main background. The typography used in the flyer and the poster has been thought out and done very well as the writing explains key information that is very important for the audience to know also it is in the correct font as you can see that it is very important towards the festival. The colours they use in the package are all relative to the festival as they bright and happy colours. The blues and pinks are very relaxing colours and create a chilled vibe. The logo for this festival is really simple however it does get its point across really quickly as it is just the name of the festival but the T is highlighted. There isn't any bleed on the poster or flyers as the photo is in the background and it is all one photo. The kerning between the letter has been done in a very weird way as some are closer to others than usual for example like on the poster. You can see this as the the main T is closer that the other letters as it is bigger than most letters. The empty space on the flyer has been done so hen the key information stands out fully and so the audience can see who the acts are playing.
Style
The design of the package is very interesting and I really do like the way the name of the festival has been centred on the poster. I love the colour of the poster and the way it has been done as the colours contrast with each other very well. This connotes that the festival is full of happiness and sunshine. The target audience for the festival is young teenagers what like house and classic music. The target audience will like the package as it relates to there genre. The design of the T shirts are very good as they are very good quality products also the colour of the writing represents the festival.
Layout
The layout of this poster and flyer is by far my favourite package out of them all as the placement of the images has been done very well as the images have been placed so the audience can still see the text that is on the poster. The logo has been placed on the poster so then all people will see it and I would say that it is placed very well.  The text gets straight to the point and highlights the important features also it is easy to read for the user. The use of colours are very good as they all contrast with each other. The background brings out the writing for the poster and the pictures in the background connote how the festival is. The genre of this package is house and pop.

As these campaigns are trying to attract people to come to the festival it will not include any a bit of abusive behaver or the festival will be closed because they do need a mass audience to run the festival. In this package no themes are glorified. All the logos and band names have given the festival permission to use there name as the festival had to cover the copyright act to not get in trouble.
Glastonbury festival

Purpose
The purpose of this package is to grab peoples attention when they walk past or even see it. The product educates the audience about the music played in the festival, this means that the audience know new bands also who the main performers ae on the day and who's playing on certain days. The other purpose of the poster and flyer and t shirts is so they can make revenue before the festival by selling these product at a certain cost. When they have sold many of there product it helps promote the festival as people will be wearing many of the products. This create a wider target audience.
Format
In the package there are many different product. Some of the product can be sold but some will be given for free to promote the festival. For example  the flyers and poster will be given or hung in certain areas for free for the audience as it should grab there attention. However the t shirt and the wrist bands will be sold on for money as it is accessories and they can wear them or use them on a day to basis. One advantage of having the products on different formats is that it attracts a wider target audience from different areas of the country. There is more ways to sell the product if it is available on different formats. For example I will be looking at the website but also looking on there Facebook page and shop in Sheffield.
Content
In this package there isn't any photographs which people have taken however the reason for this is so the poster and flyer can have more typography which means they can include more key information about the festival and who is playing at times. The typography has been done very well as you can see that the logo is very simple but then the poster has all different fonts which makes it fun and stand out. The colours used on for the poster and flyer also the design on the t shirts are very bright. every section is a different colour which may make it hard to read however it does represent the festival very well as it so random. The logo used in the package is very colourful and bright however the small logo is very simple but grabs peoples attention when they walk past. The logo connotes that the festival is wild and random but also a mixture of genre and people as the fonts are all different. There isn't much kerning in the poster or flyer as there is a lot of information but the space between the letters are all lined up correctly. The space between the lines is called leading and I would like to say that on the flyer all the lines are equal and I really like the way they have got so much information on one page. The empty space is black on the poster and flyer this has been one so all the colors will stand out clearly
Style
One thing that  really do like about the design of the main poster is the colours they have used and how many they have. The best thing about the poster and flyer is that the background is black so then the colours all stand out. The other thing that I like is that the t shirts are not all the same design and have different designs to them. The wrist band that they use goes with the flyer and the genre of the music. The target audience is mainly aimed for 18 to 25 years old however next year the festival will have older genre as older bands will be playing. The t shirt has the same colours as the poster so it goes well for the design.
Layout
The layout of this poster is very simple as it does not include any images however the logo is very striking and I really like the text and how they have made is stand out also the way the heading can be easily read as the layout is simple and straight forward. The features are placed all over the campaign and all stand out to the public. In this package the use of colour is very important so then the audience will b able to see the writing. The writing is all multicolour which looks very cool and represent the festival. The background helps make the colours stand out as it is a black background. The genre is indie, rock, pop and metal.
Target audience
The campaign will mainly focus on 16 to 25 year olds a the festivals include many young artist that teenagers will like. The target audience for the music is 17 to 20 as the music is very modern this is because many young teenagers love this type of music for example like indie. So many people can go to this festival as it doesn't cost as much money as one of the big ones and the local bands are still very good. As the price is low I would like to say that working class people can get ticket and upper working class also rich. The gender that would go to this festival would mostly be girls as the festival does have many bands that girls love so they will attract them for example Catfish and the Bottlemen. This creates an ideal partner as the girls wouldn't mind being with one of the band member also the males that visit the festival wouldn't mind being in the same situation as the band members. The spending power will be high as there is a lot of alcohol and merchandise involved with the festival also people will be traveling from different areas of the country to get to the festival.
Regulatory
The festival package has be very careful that they do not break any rules in the making of the festival as they could lose a lot of money or even the festival could be cancelled is some serious cases. The ASA will manage is if the festival is suitable for the people who come to the festival or even if they just are interested. The ASA will look if  there is harmful, offensive or misleading information in the package that is included in this festival.
